About me.
present.
Originally I trained as a Textile Designer / Maker.
Currently I am exploring Filmmaking and trying my hands at some other crafts.
At present I mainly co-create videos with my husband and business partner Mike Boyd for our YouTube channel. Where he learns new skills. I’m the one behind the camera, the filmmaker - producer and thumbnail artist.
Recently I wanted to try some new skills myself and set up a new channel. To keep up to date with what I am working on, keep an eye on my Instagram and YouTube channel or alternatively subscribe to my mailing list (see bottom of page) where you will be notified when I have an online sale.
past.
In the past I sold my work through The New Craftsmen (2016 - 2019) and worked for Robert Gordon University’s 'Go Green Initiative' (2017), holding sustainability workshops in textile repair, reuse and repurposing.
Before this, I was Donna Wilson’s Design Assistant (2016 - 2017), where I gained a huge wealth of knowledge in small production techniques, prototyping and working with Scottish factories.
I studied at The Royal College of Art (2014 - 2016) to gain a Masters in Design specialising in Constructed Textiles. Interning with Johnston's of Elgin through out my studies, focusing on knitwear design, fabric archiving and embroidery.
I was awarded a QEST Scholarship, DEWAR Arts Prize and SIET Grant during this time.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Gray’s School of Art (2009 - 2013), with a 1st Class BA Hons and was awarded The Design in Action Prize at my graduate show. I then went on to win The Christy Carpets, for commercial potential, at New Designers.
Between my undergraduate degree and my masters I was a Graduate in Resident at Gray’s School of Art (2014) for a year, which gave me the opportunity to lead workshops and to progress with my own practice before before moving to London.
